ePigeon Instant Messaging is now fully working under Windows 7.

ePigeon version 5 and lower are not supported anymore. Registered clients may upgrade free of charge to version 7.

Also, Windows 95/98/ME and NT are not supported anymore for ePigeon Instant Messaging version 7 and higher.

Version 7.0 released!

The server portion has been completely re-written. The Microsoft .NET Framework is not required anymore. The system now uses on 1 TCP/IP port for all of its communication needs. UDP protocol is not used anymore, making the system more reliable. Also, improved license management and import/export features are some of the enhancements included in this new version. And as usual, upgrading from previous versions is still free of charge for all our registered customers.

Version 5.2 released!

Re-introduced the Continuous mode from version 4. When a message is sent in this mode, the message cannot be acknowledged by the recipients. It will keep scrolling until the sender (or somebody with a higher role) cancels it.

Added the Expanded banner policy which allows to display the scrolling banner with or without the extra area under the banner to show information about the sender and access command buttons.

Version 5.1 released!

Re-introduced the watchdog feature from earlier versions. The watchdog sends a command to the server at fixed intervals defined by policies to make sure the connection is still alive.

Also added few maintenance tools that allow an administrator to remotely access the client's computer to read the log file, turn on/off the trace option, reconnect or restart the client, even if the remote client is not connected to the server. These tools are accessible from the Machines section of the administration interface.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to improve the flexibility of the program and to integrate the new features, we have had to sacrifice compatibility with previous versions. This should therefore be viewed as an entirely new product. However, it can be installed and used in parallel with previous versions, as it uses a different TCP port.
